What fun is eating a normal burger when you could eat a monster burger with a whole kilo of meat in it, or a burger that is so hot you’ll need to dunk your head in a bucket of iced water after you take a bite? If you’re up for a bit of a challenge (and a serious food coma) we’ve found something that might tickle your fancy.
Check out these three Perth burger joints who have come up with some of the most crazy burger challenges we’ve ever heard of.
Johnny’s Burgers | Demon’s Revenge
Johnny’s Burgers was the first burger in Perth to come with a serious health warning—you need to sign a waiver before you can order the burger. The Demon’s Revenge contains two kinds of chillis—Carolina Reaper and Bhut Jolokia—with the sauce rated at 3.5 million units on the Scoville scale (the internationally recognised measure of spicy heat). To put that in perspective, your standard chilli comes in at around 2500 on the same scale. If you’ve got any heart or stomach conditions, you’re out and no matter how healthy you are, you’ll need someone to drive you home after. Sounds reasonable.
Novembar’s Cafe | Fat Boy
Novembar's Fat Boy comes with a casual seven meat patties, three slices of cheese, bacon, caramelised onion and egg. You pay by the minute so the faster you eat it the less you pay. If that’s not enough you can basically go as crazy as you like here, with one burger on the menu coming in at a crazy $1000. It is made up of 101 beef patties, two T-bone steaks and a truck load of bacon, egg, cheese, onion, lettuce and tomato. Holy burger-moley.
The Vic | Monster Burger Challenge
Every Wednesday from 5pm you can get yourself a seriously monster burger at The Vic in Subiaco. A 30cm bun with a one-kilogram meat pattie, topped with onion rings and served with fries. If you can finish it in 16 minutes or less, it’s yours for free plus you’ll get a victory pint on the house. We’re keen.
