Editor's note: Ooops! In our excitement about Uber delivering ice cream to the people of Perth we accidentally said it was free in our weekly email sent on 14 July. This is definitely not the case, but the money spent goes to charity so don't let that stop you!
What? Ice cream delivery. When? This Friday in Perth. Why? Uber is up to its crazy tricks again!
Since missing out on getting puppies delivered to our office earlier this year, we were super stoked to hear that Uber will be delivering ice cream to the sweet-treat-loving people of Perth this Friday 15 July.
And it’s not just any ice cream! This cold, creamy stuff has been created by no other than George Colombaris, Matt Moran and Neil Perry. So, yeah, it’s going to be delicious. Flavours up for grabs are George’s caramel and walnut baklava smash, Matt’s banoffee crunch and Neil’s spiced cookie and caramel swirl.
The best bit? Each tub purchased will fund five meals for OzHarvest to feed people in need, so you can eat the entire tub without feeling guilty!
How, you ask? All you have to do is download the Uber app (if you haven’t already), open it up during 11am and 5pm on Friday 15 July, set your location and request for “Ice Cream”. If you’re successful in landing an ice cream laden Uber driver your account will be charged $15 and a half-litre tub of delicious icey goodness will be delivered to your door pronto. Easy!
To get lucky, you’ll want to position yourself somewhere in the Perth CBD, Northbridge, East Perth, West Perth, Subiaco, Leederville, Fremantle, Joondalup or Osborne Park.
Don’t want to leave it up to chance? Here’s where to find Perth’s best gelato!
