Whether you’re an out-of-towner looking to book your next sunshine-y holiday, or a local with a hankering to get away from the daily grind, here are the best next-level Airbnbs on and around the Sunshine Coast.
Note: We may have mentally planned like 21,452 holidays while compiling this list, because, oh, you’ll see why. Prepare yourself for epic accommodation overload.
Love at first site is a thing! We know, because we went there with The Glass House. How could you not fall face first into a love puddle, when a house looks as sexy as this. Actually, we feel like we need to warn you—after staying at this Noosa Hinterland gem, your life will inevitably look so much shittier. This resort-style, almost-modernist house has powers, namely in the form of floor-to-ceiling windows that you’re going to lust after and a pool that you could never afford. But hey, that’s the beauty of Airbnb, yeah? Try because you can’t buy? Oh, that’s just us?
Before you even go there, we know that Byron is a little bit further afield then the rest. But with the super sleek Chalet up for grabs, we’ve no doubt you’ll find a way to make that luxurious weekender happen. Take one look at The Chalet and you’ll be dreamin’ about gutting your entire home and re-modelling it to look just like this place. How do we know? Because we were exactly the same.
Srsly, if you’re going to stay in Noosa and have the dosh to splash out on something sophisticated with all the trimmings, you’d be pressed to find somewhere that tops Rainforest Retreat at Little Cove. Nestled in what’s pretty much renowned as Noosa’s most exclusive area, a key to this epic house also gains you access to a tennis court and pool (shared with five other prestigious properties).
We’re not sure if this stunningly-renovated 1920s worker’s cottage has graced the cover of countless interior mags, and, if it hasn’t, well, then it totally should. Duran House is the epitome of boutique, luxe accommodation right in the heart of Brisbane’s West End. It sleeps six, but we reckon it’d be perfect for a romantic city break, complete with a monochrome wardrobe to match the house’s colour scheme, you hear me?
With a name like Vila Margaret, you know this retreat ain’t gonna be of the shabby kind. She’s a bit, okay, very posh, and her 1930s Art Deco facade makes it totally viable to judge this book by its cover. Perched amongst the lushness of Mount Tamborine, if you’re looking for somewhere spesh to round up your mates for the ultimate getaway—complete with an outdoor fireplace—this residence could be THE ONE.
There’s “rustic” shacks and then there’s luxury cabins, just like The Upper House. Book a weekend here when you’re trying to climb your way out of the not-so-great books. Stunning views over Lake Baroon, a crackling fire to lounge beside, and cute wallabies as your neighbours, there’s no way this Maleny house won’t get you over the line. Promise.
