Rick's Artisan Pies & Sourdough have literally just opened their doors and yet they have already managed to win us over with their decadent deliciousness. #bye2018diet
We’re not sure if it was the gourmet Angus in Béarnaise Pie with pan fried mushrooms and cheddar cheese, or the BBQ Pulled Pork Pie, but we are just nom noming it all right now. (We might even be bordering on obsessed?)
Did we mention the savoury roll range? Our fave is the Pork and Chorizo Roll with caramelised onion—it’s a must try. But if you feel like something a little lighter, at Rick's they also offer a daily made salad selection to balance out their naughty food.
Either way, the fact they import all their flour from France has left us more than impressed. That’s right, FRANCE, guys. They really know their stuff here and take their baking seriously. The owners are a father and son team (CUTE) who have travelled the world sourcing the best formulas and recipes to bring home to us here on the Coast! This pair know a thing or two about sourdough creation, even filtering the water they use to create this magical loaf with a reverse osmosis supply system.
All their bread is baked in house every single day, inside a specialised stone floor oven imported from Italy, darling. Their sourdough is well, artisan, and is utterly fabulous. Crunchy on the exterior and soft on the interior, exactly the way a perfect sourdough should taste.
Now that we’ve covered all the savory bases out there, let’s move on to the sweet treats. Think: Traditional Portuguese Custard Tarts, G-Free Orange Bars with Cream Cheese, Belgium Chocolate Brownies, Passionfruit Curd Tarts and French Vanilla Slice. (They included that last one for the local tradies.)
We’ve tried them ALL and we just can’t pick a fave. Oh, and one last thing, they are also serving up All Press. So, if you’re after a decent coffee, Rick's Artisan Pies & Sourdough has you sorted.
Yep, these guys have managed to cover all bases to perfection, and then some.
