Animals are good for the soul and that’s a fact. But sadly, there are hundreds of abandoned animals stuck in shelters right now that are in need of a loving home, so we think it’s probably time you fill that four-legged-shaped hole in your heart and adopt a pet on the Sunshine Coast.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, RSPCA shelters have been forced to close across the state, which meant we haven’t been able to bring home any furry self-isolation companions.
But the good news is that has just changed with the exciting introduction of RSPCA’s new Virtual Adoptions across Queensland.
The whole process is like online dating. You can now go to RSPCA’s website, search what type of animal you’re looking for based on location (Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Gold Coast options are available) and scroll through a bunch of pet profiles until a cutie catches your eye. You’ll find puppies and very good doggos to cats and kittens and even farm animals. Each profile details everything you need to know like their breed, age, temperament and adoption price. If you think you’d make a great match, fill out an expression of interest to adopt online and the RSPCA will be in touch.
It’s likely you’ve got plenty of time on your hands these days to give a pet extra attention, so there’s absolutely no reason to hold off adopting any longer. But remember, adopting a pet isn’t a short term thing—these little fuzzy angels need love for the rest of their lives and that means they’ll be around long after these crazy coronavirus times are over. So, if you’re ready to find your soul mate and give them a loving furever home, check out RSPCA’s virtual adoptions here.
