Before COVID, drive-thrus were just a thing of convenience; nowadays though, they can truly be lifesavers if you don’t feel comfortable walking in a crowded store or restaurant.
Lucky for us, one of the Sunshine Coast’s favourite bakeries shares our enthusiasm for drive-thrus: on Wednesday, 5 August, Banjo’s Bakery Café will launch the first drive-thru bakery in Bokarina. So if you’ve been skittish about leaving your house, now might be a good opportunity to hop in the car and nab yourself some good ol’ egg and bacon breakfast pie.
Besides a shiny new drive-through, the new venue will also be able to seat 42 customers in accordance with Government regulations, so if you feel like sampling Banjo’s fresh treats while dining in, you totally can. The entire menu will also be available via takeaway, drive-thru, Click and Collect, and UberEats for added convenience.
And if a fresh pie drive-thru isn’t good enough news for you, if you head to the Bokarina venue on opening day, you’ll be able to score a free sausage roll with your purchase. There’s a catch, though: you’ll have to be one of the first 1,000 customers to get there before supplies run out. Um, drive-thru baked goods and free sausage rolls? Count us in.
