While you can forget the tight bun and toe-squishing shoes that haunt you from your childhood dance classes, after your first barre workout, you will hurt in places you never hurt before. Oh, and you’ll be hooked. Keen to see what the fuss is all about? Here are the best barre classes on the Sunshine Coast to get your body all toned in time for summer.   

Sunshine Studio Pilates


The smart cookies at Sunshine Studio Pilates have created a unique style of barre class called ReformBarre, which is pretty much exactly as it sounds—a combination of exercises on the reformer and at the ballet barre to ensure each key area of your body is stretched and worked. Trainers Michelle and Nichola are the real deal—you only have to take a quick peek at their Facebook page to see a stream of rave reviews. 

Oxygen Pilates

This boutique studio in Noosaville welcomes all to try their barre classes, and as soon as you set foot in their light-filled, lush new studio, we’re pretty sure you’ll never want to leave. NXT Studio


People of Caloundra, get ready to make those thighs burn, baby, burn! NXT Studio offers a handful of barre classes for people of all abilities and fitness levels. Designed to make you sweat, you’ll also feel super strong and you’ll just want to do more and more! But, do you wanna hear what’s unique about this lovely little studio? Come to a class early, or stay after, and enjoy a pot of local tea in the ‘room of Maitri’—a place of love and kindness for all NXT clients. Isn’t that just the sweetest? 



We listed Jodi’s BarreYoga class as a ‘must-try’ in 2017 a little while back, so we figured this was a fitting time to remind you all to tick it off your fitness bucket list, if you haven’t already.
