Here on the Sunshine Coast, we’re no strangers to warmth… in fact, we thrive on it! So it’s no surprise that hot yoga is pretty popular around here. After an almost endless summer, the winter chill has well and truly hit, so what better way to keep warm than with a hot yoga class? While yoga itself has been around for yonks—we’re talking since the fifth or sixth century here, peeps—the practice of hot yoga is fairly new. The original hot yoga, Bikram Yoga, was first developed in the 80s and since then other styles have popped up.
