Here on the Sunshine Coast, we’re no strangers to warmth… in fact, we thrive on it! So it’s no surprise that hot yoga is pretty popular around here. After an almost endless summer, the winter chill has well and truly hit, so what better way to keep warm than with a hot yoga class? While yoga itself has been around for yonks—we’re talking since the fifth or sixth century here, peeps—the practice of hot yoga is fairly new. The original hot yoga, Bikram Yoga, was first developed in the 80s and since then other styles have popped up.

To keep you fit this winter, we’ve compiled a list of the best hot yoga studios on the Sunshine Coast. Get ready to sweat, baby, sweat!

Phoenix Yoga

Phoenix Yoga has five fully-qualified instructors and is just a hop, skip, and a jump from Alex Heads. Phoenix holds Bikram yoga classes at least once a day, including weekends, so there’s no excuse for hangovers when you can sweat out those toxins with a spot of hot yoga. Phoenix offers an introductory pass for just $49, allowing you to attend unlimited classes for one month. It’s a pretty sweet deal, guys.

Yoga Vida

In Mooloolaba lies a hidden gem called Yoga Vida. With plenty of different yoga styles to choose from (anyone up for some HIIT yoga?), studio owner Bryan has a heavy sporting background and utilises the healing properties of yoga throughout his classes. Offering hot yoga a couple of times a week, this class is performed in 28-32 degree heat and is a mix between power flow and regular class.

Yogi Studio

Come one, come all! Yogis of all levels are welcomed with open arms at Yogi Studio. With a range of hot and warm yoga class times across the week, there’s bound to be a class that fits your busy wining and dining schedule. When you’re done with all those warrior poses, step out of the studio and straight onto Marcoola Beach for a dip! We can’t think of a better way—that doesn’t involve food—to start or end the day.

Bikram Yoga Sunshine Coast

Experience the original hot yoga at Bikram Yoga Sunshine Coast, with a heated, purpose-built room and instructors certified specifically in Bikram. Take advantage of their #winning introductory offer—$30 for 30 days—by the end of it, you’ll be looking and feeling hot, hot, hot.

Aloha Active

Nestled in Noosa Blue Resort and just a stone’s throw from Noosa’s world-class beaches, Aloha Active is the perfect spot to join the hot yoga movement. Studio owner Manyia has over 15 years of yoga teaching experience behind her, and her Bikram classes focus on increasing strength, concentration, endurance, and stamina. She also organises ahh-mazing yoga retreats to Vanuatu and Bali, so you can truly get your Zen on. Because island vibes. If hot downward dogs aren’t your thing, these guys also offer hot pilates.

Bikram Yoga Kawana

One of the special things about Bikram Yoga Kawana is that their teachings extend further than just the studio. The teachers there encourage their students to channel the techniques used in their hot yoga classes in dealing with challenging situations in everyday life. It’s near one of the Coast’s best cafes, so you can come for the yoga, and namastay for the coffee…

You've worked up a sweat, now it's time to refuel with the best acai bowls on the Sunshine Coast
