Nothing screams a fatty feed quite like loaded fries. Topped with enough meat, sauce and cheese to feed a small country, loaded fries are not only the perfect accompaniment to an epic burger, but they’re also a meal in themselves...if you consider deliciously greasy goodness to be a staple in your diet. Which we totally do.

Whether you’re hideously hungover, ravenously hungry or simply have a hankering to turn today into your #cheatday, we’ve got you covered with the best loaded fries on the Sunshine Coast.

Paradise Arcade

Noosa

Paradise Arcade is the new Noosa digs you need to know about. Throwing their doors open to the public earlier this month, these guys are already dishing up some of the most drool-worthy Mexican on the Sunshine Coast and their loaded fries have people lining up out the door. Their Not Cho Fries (pun intended, of course) include a generous serving of scrumptious seasoned fries, lavishly topped with Baja cream, chipotle mayo, pickled cactus, queso fresco, guac and pico de gallo. We can’t even.

Junk

Maroochydore

Dominating the Asian street-eats game on the Coast, we’re huge fans of everything on Junk’s menu. However, we gotta tell ya, a trip to Junk isn’t complete without devouring a serve of Gangnam fries. Think Junk-spiced fries with house made kimchi, nacho cheese sauce, spring onion and nori…sounds pretty good on paper, right? Trust us, it’s even better IRL.

Taps

Mooloolaba

The good guys at Taps have not one, not two, but THREE types of loaded fries on the menu, and that’s not even the best part! Aside from the classic poutine (potato fries with cheese and gravy, for those not so ‘in-the-know’), Taps dish up loaded fries of the sweet potato variety…whodathunk it? Their Mexicana loaded fries—sweet potato fries topped with capsicum salsa, kidney beans, pickled jalapenos and melted mozzarella cheese—are a gift from the gods. Or, if you just can’t pick a fave, the Pulled Pork Chilli Cheese has both sweet potato AND potato fries hiding under a mountain of spicy pulled pork, capsicum salsa and mozzarella cheese.

Dirty Moes

Mooloolaba

For a hearty feed like no other, Dirty Moes are the best in the biz. Bringing the big flavours of the Deep South to little old Mooloolaba, their chilli cheese fries are pretty much a compulsory addition to any of their slow-cooked meats or as a delish snack for one. These finger lickin’ fries are dolloped with Mexi beans and American cheese sauce, and served with a friendly smile. What more could you ask for?

Good Food Fellas

Various locations

With a menu that changes on the regular, and locally-sourced produce, the Good Food Fellas spend their days creating some of the best street food on the Sunshine Coast. Their loaded fries offerings change on the daily, but some of our faves are the Carolina Pulled Pork and Durban Lamb Curry. Herbivores also needn’t miss out on all the fun—their vego loaded fries are a winner! Popping up at various locations around the Coast, your best bet is to catch these guys at Urban Garden on Wednesdays between 11am and 2pm, but you can like them on Facebook to stay in the loop. And if you’re feeling particularly famished? Ask for the Jason special…

MooFree Burgers

Maroochydore

Get ready, because MooFree Burgers is about to rock your world. This still-kinda-new spot in Maroochydore is shaking things up vegan-style, and dishing out some seriously impressive brekkies, lunches and dinners! While we’re not saying you shouldn’t try one of their vegan burgers (these have to be seen to be believed), you simply can’t go past their hummus and tabouli loaded fries. Did you catch that? Hummus AND tabouli, on fries. Need we say more? Get on down there and let your tastebuds do the talking!

Carve Deli

Peregian Beach

Peregian Beach’s newest bar is already making waves among locals for their craft beers and moreish bar noms, and their loaded fries deliver the goods of the freakin’ delish variety! Oozing with Mexican yummies, they’re topped with chilli, black bean, cheddar and a housemade white BBQ sauce—just to be different! Our Canadian friends will also love Carve’s take on poutine—chippies drizzled in gravy and stacked with mozzarella AND cheddar. Peregian just got a whole lot tastier!

Prefer good ol' plain sweet potato chips? We've covered those, too!
