Where To Find The Best Pizza On The Sunshine Coast

Thin base, thick crust, cheesy, authentic, innovative—we’re not fussy, but we know a good pizza when we taste one.

The art of pizza-making is serious business (same goes for pizza-tasting), which is why we’re lifting the lid and sharing our list of where you can find the best pizza on the Sunshine Coast.

El Capitano

Noosa Heads

It’s common knowledge that El Capitano’s mouthwatering 72-hour fermented sourdough pizzas are to-die-for. From slow-roasted lamb shoulder with goat’s cheese to sweet potato and dukkha, their toppings alone are worth the trip. Top it all off with some award-winning gelato and you’ll be planning your next visit before you’ve even paid the bill.

Bombetta

Noosa Heads

If you’re looking for a pizza joint that offers a little more than just pizza, then Bombetta is the place for you. Yes, they make delicious pizzas—our favourite is the Italian Stallion—but they also offer a range of pastas and mains, as well as classic Tiramisu and Nutella calzones. With equally delicious dine-in and take-away menus, as well as a fully-stocked bar, Bombetta is all about Italian decadence, whether you’re eating out in your finest threads or at home on the couch.

Peregian Beach Hotel

Peregian Beach

Family-owned and family-run, the Peregian Beach Hotel is your go-to for laidback afternoon drinks, tapas—think jalapeno and cheese poppers, and South Australian salt and pepper calamari—and a delectable range of woodfired pizzas, which are also available on a gluten-free base. With local craft beers on tap and live music, it’ll be easy to lose track of time here.

Locale

Noosa Heads

The best in the Italian fine-dining business, Locale offers lunch, dinner, at the bar, cocktail, dessert and wine menus, so you’re spoilt for choice no matter what time you drop in. Hit up the lounge bar for Aperitivo Hour and enjoy five cicchetti dishes for $45 or choose any 10 of their stone-fired pizzas and a wine or a beer for just $25. The best part is that Aperitivo Hour is actually six hours’ long, available every day from 12pm to 6pm. Now that’s our kind of happy hour.

Bulli Café

Marcoola

Come 5pm, Bulli Café transforms from its daytime persona of a relaxed seaside breakfast haven into a little slice of Italy, churning out delicious pizzas. With everything from the classic Hawaiian to the PPPP (prawns, prosciutto, potato and pesto), this corner-hugging café sits just across the road from the beach, perfect for a post-dinner stroll.

Orange On Sunrise

Tinbeerwah

If you’re looking for variety, then Orange On Sunrise is the off-the-beaten-track pizza spot for you. With an extensive pizza menu made up of 20 different pizzas, the only difficult decision you’ll need to make is what to order. From BBQ chicken and smoked salmon to Moroccan lamb and roasted duck, if it’s too hard to choose, you may just have to get one for now and one for the road.

All’ Antica

Buddina

Since it opened back in the ‘90s, All’ Antica has been all about keeping tradition alive, serving up traditional and authentic Italian cuisine in a rustic setting. With dishes inspired by the Northern Alps and the waters of the Mediterranean, a trip here is like a mini escape to Italy. Whether you’re after pizza, pasta or something in between (like their spaghetti Bolognese calzone), you won’t be disappointed.

Augello’s

Mooloolaba

Renowned on the Sunshine Coast for its award-winning pizzas, Augello’s sits along Mooloolaba Esplanade, making it ideal for the post-beach day feast. Order the Duck Sushizza—a quirky combination of a rice base, duck, teriyaki sauce and sprout salad—the Tuna & Salsa, featuring seared fresh tuna sitting on a blended nori and sesame seed base, or the Hot Smoked Salmon on a dill and parmesan-infused dough, and you’ll be eating three outstanding dishes that have each won the world’s best pizza competition.

Il Vento

Mooloolaba

The newest pizza restaurant in Mooloolaba, Il Vento takes fine Italian dining to a whole new level. Dishing up rich gnocchi, mind-blowing spaghetti carbonara and pasta stirred inside a cheese wheel, the real showstoppers are the woodfired pizzas, cooked inside their giant Italian pizza oven.

Amici Restaurant and Pizzeria

Caloundra

Good pizza is what Amici does best, so if you’re after some hot, saucy and cheesy goodness, this Caloundra restaurant has your name on it. With a massive menu of traditional and gourmet pizzas, pastas and risottos, as well as a banana, chocolate and malt mousse and Oreo sundaes, head to Amici for the ultimate cheat day smorgasbord.

Venice Gourmet Pizza Pasta and Ribs

Caloundra

Venice Gourmet Pizza delivers exactly what it promises: great pizza, great pasta and great ribs. Offering a range of classic and gourmet pizzas, traditional pastas and of course hot and saucy ribs, Venice is the perfect place to pick up some takeaway eats before a sunset session on the beach. They also offer a range of epic specials so you can get more pizza for your penny.

JENS Woodfired Pizzas

Maleny

Escape the bustle of the Coast and head to the hinterland where you’ll find moreish woodfired pizza at JENS in Maleny. Renowned for not holding back with their toppings, both carnivores and vegetarians will be satisfied with their broad menu, which has everything from bacon, roast potato and garlic, to bruschetta pizzas.

Montville Gourmet Pizzeria

Montville

Montville Gourmet Pizzeria delivers the goods when it comes to hunting down some of the best pizza on the Sunshine Coast. Their light pizza bases and cheese toppings pull in a constant stream of hungry locals, so you know this is a place you can trust. Whatever you order, keep in mind, there’s housemade gelato and sorbets on offer, too.

Fratelli Pizza and Takeaway

Buderim

If you’re looking for something a little different (but still delicious), then it’s worth checking out Fratelli. And by different, we mean pizzas with titles like Thai, Tandoori, Little Egypt, Kuta Beach Sate, Greek and Mongolian BBQ. Fratelli takes traditional Italian cuisine and mixes it up with toppings inspired by other countries, resulting in a truly unique dining experience.

Zachary’s Gourmet Pizza Bar

Noosa Heads

It’s a good thing Zachary’s offers half and half pizzas, because their massive menu makes selecting just one topping a hard task. With a wide range of traditional pizzas as well as beef, lamb, chicken and seafood pizzas, Zachary’s doesn’t fall short when it comes to variety and quality. And, if you’re feeling a little more American than Italian, they also offer delicious nachos and chicken wings.
