The coastal town of Kingscliff is a beautiful (and short) drive from the Sunshine Coast, and also not as far Byron Bay (seriously, it's a huge selling point). This haven seems to combine the best of both world when it comes to both beaches and noms. Boasting the beauty of the Sunshine Coast’s pristine beaches and the coolness of Byron’s bars and eateries, Kinsgcliff has come into its own as a must-visit beach destination.

From awesome markets, killer food, and Insta-worthy fields of sunflowers, here are six epic spots you’ll want to check out next time you’re in Kingscliff.

La Barrita

If you’re craving a few Margs and some banging jalapeno poppers, La Barrita will make all your  Mexican food dreams come true. With its cosy atmosphere, friendly staff and tasty share plates, it’s definitely a must if you’re passing through The Tweed region.

Chic Greek-inspired Taverna is not only super gorgeous (think white washed walls and stunning natural light) but with mouth-watering options like charred octopus, honey-drizzled halloumi and vegan moussaka, it’s no wonder it’s the talk of the coast.

The Salt Mill

Marine Parade cool kid, The Salt Mill, is a pocket-sized café on the southern end of Kingscliff. Turning out epic Allpress coffee, smoothies and acai bowls with a view of the waves, it’s the chill brunch spot you need in your weekend.

Mockingbird just recently moved to a lush little garden spot right off Marine Parade, which makes it the prettiest (and tastiest) place for brunch. The crew at Mockingbird only uses local fresh produce and ethically sourced meats and eggs, so you can feel good about wolfing absolutely everything down at this delicious spot.

Farm & Co

Have you seen numerous Insta photos of people frolicking through amazing fields of sunflowers lately? Chances are they were at Farm & Co Kingscliff. Along with providing one of the best Insta backdrops out there, Farm & Co is also worth a visit for their super fresh fruit and veggies and their beautiful on-farm accommodation.

If you’re looking for cheap eats to take away on the beach and enjoying the sunset, Govindas has you covered. This Hare Krishna joint slings some of the best veggie eats around so there’s no excuse but to stuff your veggie-lovin’ face.

Kingscliff Beachside Markets

If you can time your visit with the fab Kingscliff Beachside Markets (held in Jack Bayliss Park every second and fourth Saturday of the month) you should. There’s local organic produce, locally designed swim wear, all the coffee, great community vibes and more.

Ok so, now we've seen all of the most epic noms that you'll find in Kingcliff, let's see what the Sunshine Coast has got to offer. We've rounded up 50 Awesome (& Cheap) Things To Do On The Sunshine Coast here
