Just when you thought you were going to curb that snacking habit…oh boy, you were so wrong.
There aren’t many greater pleasures in life than a cheeky cheese and charcuterie board. Not to mention when it’s paired with a couple of chilled glasses of vino, salty sea air and all-round good vibes. Actual. Heaven.
So, in the spirit of eating, drinking and being merry, one of Noosa’s best pizza joints has just launched the most perfect addition to their already rockin’ menu. Ladies and gents, El Capitano now has a dedicated salumi e mozzarella bar.
Say what now? Yeah okay, it doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, so we’ll break it down for you: the bar houses a premium selection of hand-crafted meats and mozzarella, made right here in the land of Aus. You can hand-pick a winning combo from the list for your party crew to nibble on, all served with carta di musica (delish Sicilian flatbread). Or maybe it’s just you, and that’s more than okay, because charcuterie for one is totally a thing.
If making important decisions like ‘prosciutto or capocollo’ is in the ‘too hard’ basket, let the team at El Capitano choose for you and order one of their feature plates. We’re loving the sound of the Captain’s Antipasti; piled with the chef’s pick of the salumi and mozzarella, Noosa Reds tomatoes, and pickled and fermented veggies, it’s well and truly designed to be enjoyed in good company and over a fine bottle o’plonk (from their natural, biodynamic, organic wine list, btw).
Now, there are definitely a few meat and cheese plates sittin’ pretty on restaurant menus around town, but we’re pretty sure there’s nothing quite like this bad boy on the Sunshine Coast. It’s not like you needed any more reasons to swing by El Capitano, but we gotta say, the salumi e mozzarella bar is a game-changer, and mmm-mmm…we’re into it!
