Winter is here and with the sun taking a little longer to rise each morning, it’s pretty damn hard to get out of bed.
But even though the struggle is real, it's up to us to make the chilly mornings suck just a little less. So without further ado, we've found five of the cosiest cafes on the Sunshine Coast to keep warm.
While they’ll never be as snug as your bed, they’re the next best thing.
Chai lovers, assemble. Homegrown are known for brewing some of the best chai lattes on the Sunshine Coast, so you’d best be hitting up this cosy Palmwoods café, stat. With a mish-mash of second-hand furniture giving this spot a homey feel, we wouldn’t blame you if you ended up staying for lunch. In fact, with stomach-warmers like housemade soup, you’d be crazy not to.
Shotgun Espresso is the epitome of "cosy". Hanging plants, snuggly couches and pastel cushions cement Shotgun’s place on this list, not to mention the fine foods that grace their menu. With some of the prettiest dishes we ever did see, we recommend settling in for more than just your usual morning coffee run. Oh and if the sun comes out, sneak out to the their new back courtyard for a bit of Vitamin D.
Tasting as good as it looks, you’ll spot this cute café on the main drag of Eumundi, close to the markets. It’s dimly lit, with a range of seating, and walking inside feels like being wrapped in a big warm hug. Humdrum pours a house blend from local roastery Clandestino, with a rotating single origin. If you’ve brought along your tea-sipping buddy, they’ll be well looked after with a selection of over 25 different flavours. So sit back and get comfy, Humdrum is as cosy as they come.
The Velo Project
Boasting one of our fave brunch menus on the Sunshine Coast, a morning at The Velo Project is well worth whipping off the doona for, especially if you can sink straight into one of their vintage couches. Topped off with great vibes, it’s the perfect place to order a matcha latte, a mouth-watering crepe, and keep warm this winter.
Tucked away in a small nook in Nambour, close to the hospital, Jamoke serves up one of the best coffees on the Sunshine Coast. Even better, its small size means its cosy in winter and the perfect place to de-scarf. Spoil yourself and order something from the sweets cabinet, and we doubt you’ll want to leave. This spot gets extra bonus points for super friendly staff.
