Japanese

Time to get cultured, folks, and you don’t even have to leave the Coast—winning!

The Japanese Spring Festival is popping up in Doonan this weekend and will be the ultimate coming together of delicious eats, Japanese traditions and all round good vibes.

Held at Sunspace Cafe, Saturday’s program kicks off with three tea ceremonies (book your spot here), followed by a foodie bonanza featuring some of the Coast’s best Japanese food from restaurants like Blue Plum, Sushi Yah Man and Sushi Wave. It’s a safe call to say our mouths are officially watering. But the fun doesn’t end there, with kimono dressing, live music and a samurai weapon demo that’ll probs make you want to go buy yourself some swords.

Backing it up on Sunday, there’ll be Japanese nosh at the ready, as well as a Suibokuga workshop (that’s ink-wash painting, guys) and plenty of games.
