The Mooloolaba Wharf precinct is almost at full capacity with a range of epic restaurants and bars that could easily take up a month’s worth of weekends to work through, but it’s the latest addition to the wharf scene that has us most excited.

Opening in late December of last year, Ninth Street is an American-style eatery brought to us by the team behind Maroochydore’s much-loved café, The Nines

Decked out with festoon lights, a greenery wall and a mix of seating options, this is casual dining at its finest.

Serving up flavour-packed dishes that won’t leave you scrambling to pay rent, Ninth Street is one place where more, is in fact, more. Their all-day menu features big meals, all for $15 or under, and while it’d be correct to say these guys do great burgers, hotdogs and desserts, it wouldn’t be doing them justice. So let’s go deeper.

Firstly, make sure you head to this new Mooloolaba restaurant with a group of friends—the hungrier, the better.

Start with the Big Kahuna; a hefty burger loaded with a housemade beef patty, grilled pineapple, crispy bacon and smothered with a sweet but tangy teriyaki and tomato-infused sauce. Chances are you won’t want to share this one…

If dogs are more your jam, Ninth Street offers a smorgasbord of hotdog combinations, including three vegetarian options—a Mexican bean dog, a loaded mac and cheese dog and a veggie dog topped with French fries—that even carnivores will find impossible to resist. Order them all, then pick your favourite for next time.

Or, if you’ve already filled the tank elsewhere and are looking to satisfy a sugar craving, you’re also in luck. Pull up to Ninth Street’s in-and-out takeaway dessert window, and you can get your sweet tooth hit in an instant.

The dessert menu includes ice cream sandwiches (where ice cream is stuffed between two housemade cookies or in a doughnut) shakes that are a meal in themselves and classic spider floats. But the pick of the bunch, has got to be the Waffle On list. Featuring eight flavours, we wouldn’t go past the S’Morish; a freshly made buttermilk Belgium waffle, placed in a cup and topped with luscious chocolate and vanilla ice-cream, toasted marshmallow fluff, cookie crumb, mini marshmallows and chocolate sauce. Sounds too good to be true, except it’s not.

Open seven days from 11am, if you haven’t checked out this Mooloolaba newbie yet, it’s time to make it your mission.
