9 Events To Hit Up On The Sunshine Coast This July

As the winter chill settles in, it can be all too easy to snuggle into your duvet and never leave your warm cocoon. With so many incredible events popping up on the Sunshine Coast this month, it would be a crime not to get out there and take advantage of everything happening in our corner of paradise.

As the temperatures dip, don’t let your mood dip too— we’re here to keep the good times rolling with your ultimate to-do list for July. Whether your winter vibes are food and drink related, or you’re keen for some art, culture and tunes, this month is looking mighty fine.

Mark your calendar ‘cause we’ve got a busy month planned for you with all of the best things to check out on the Sunshine Coast in July.

The Jynx House Concert

We’ve been hardcore embracing the return to live music, so of course, we’re hyped about The Jynx House’s first-ever outdoor open-air concert. This time, they’re spoiling us with an all-star lineup including Cosmo’s Midnight, Crooked Colours, Lastlings and loads more of the hottest artists around. Take a dive into Jynx House’s electro-infused oasis and load up on a full day of live music and multi-sensory experiences like no other. This is a truly packed line up and expect the artists to deliver their signature ethereal soundscapes and prepare to properly lose yourself in the music amidst the highly acclaimed performance. Text your group chat and snag your tickets before they sell out.

Noosa Alive! Festival

Bringing world-class musicians, authors, dancers and artists to Noosa for an incredible ten days of arts and culture, the NOOSA Alive! Festival is set to be a big one. The main festival highlights revolve around literary performances, ballet, visual entertainers, theatre and, of course, food and wine. Get your culture fix on at a Queensland Ballet Performance and a Noosa Starlight Opera or soak up sweet tunes at the Orchestra Concert Spectacular. Feast on a duck-themed menu at the De-Lovely Duck event at Rococo Noosa or enjoy the gourmet food on offer at the 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner at View Restaurant Peppers. Tickets to all events are selling quickly, so snag yours, stat.

SUP Social Paddle Event

Find your balance this July at this social stand up paddle boarding event, where you can work on perfecting your killer tan, make some pals and best of all, very little athletic ability is required. Yes, even us uncoordinated ones can do it. The Sunday Social Paddle will be launching on Maroochy River on Sunday 18 July and you can explore everything on the water, from the mangroves on Goat Island to Sunshine Plaza or Pincushion Island. For our dedicated SUPers, you can bring your own board (and earn major reputation points) or just hire a SUP board when you rock up. This free event is an awesome way to ‘lax out on a cruisy Sunday morning so be sure to register your spot ASAP.

CraftAlive Show

We’re certainly not crafting gurus, but we do love a bit of arts and crafts, which is why we’ll be getting our hands dirty at the CraftAlive show hitting up the Sunshine Coast this July. Local and interstate craft experts will be giving us the lowdown on the latest craft trends, DIY tips and their favourite craft supplies and equipment. This hands-on event is a chance to learn from world class specialists with interactive classes to up your skills running all weekend. You’ll be able to chat with your favourite artists, see artwork from talented feature artists and learn how to be the ultimate craft queen (or king) with funky workshops ranging from quilting to scrapbooking and origami. Get crafty and snaffle up your tickets today.

Maleny Handmade Markets

We are all about market trawling and winter is prime market hopping season. You’re on the hunt for your next quirky goodie. Where do you go? One answer: Maleny Handmade Markets. These cute-as-a-button handmade markets are only held once every three months and are all about everything handmade, handcrafted, hand-baked and hand-sewn—which means you’re bound to snap up some adorable goodies. Think two whole days, 30+ stallholders and loads of craft workshops so you can DIY your next gift. Head to Maleny Handmade Markets this July for wholesome vibes and some gorgeous handmade bargains.

Queensland Garden Expo

Gardening was all the rage last year and we are embracing the #plantlife. You can never have too many plants right? The Queensland Garden Expo is hitting Nambour Showgrounds this month for three days of gardening inspiration, innovation and awesome information. More than 360 exhibitors will be selling over 60, 000 plants daily, with free lectures and demonstrations taking over ten live stages each day. Be inspired by free workshops, advice from leading garden experts, landscape garden displays and even an awesome floral design competition. Spend a relaxed weekend exploring the Queensland Garden Expo and embracing the natural Sunshine Coast region. Crazy plant lovers, unite.

Secret Garden Micro Music Event

We’ll admit it—it’s not technically July but the Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens will be transformed into a mini concert venue on Sunday 1 August, so we thought we’d give you some advance notice. The Botanic Gardens will be playing host to performances from talented local and touring artists at the Secret Garden Music Event. From indie tunes to gritty blues and reggae vibes, the featured artists will take over the Sculpture Garden and transform it into an intimate live performance space. Grab a picnic blanket, relax with your friends in this unique setting and chill out to the tunes of local artist Lee Hardisty. Weekend plans, sorted.

BritPop Festival

You can always rely on NightQuarter to serve up the hottest acts on their stage, and they have not disappointed. They’re throwing it back to Britain in the mid 1990s at their NightQuarter BritPop Festival this July and we are hyped. Soak up the British culture without leaving Queensland with this wanderlust-worthy festival that is bursting with British anthems and classic Brit food like fish and chips, pints of ale and gin cocktails. Groove to all the best hits from Oasis, The Verve and Supergrass, which will be performed by Cool Britannia and DJs. Let the little ones loose in the vintage carnival area, filled with dodgem cars, teacup rides and a jumping Castle. Bring the Britpop era to life and get your hands on tickets today.

Seeing Eye Dogs Pawfect Partner Day

Prepare yourself for cuteness overload—we’ve got the most adorable (a-paw-able?) event happening this month for you. Find your paw-fect match at the Seeing Eye Dogs PAWfect Partner Day, where thirty seeing eye dog pups will be looking for their fur-ever home. Calling all Sunshine Coast puppy lovers—this is our definition of dog heaven. If you’ve been looking for a loving companion, head down to Maroochydore’s Sunshine Plaza, where you will be smothered in love and lots of licks and maybe just take home a new best friend.
