This holiday is all about celebrating the hard-working folk of our great land (that’s us!) so use the three-day weekend as you will.
Not sure where to start? Here are five epic events popping up on the Sunshine Coast this Labour Day long weekend.
Friday 3 May to Sunday 5 May
If you need to update your bedside table with books you’re going to actually read, then set a reminder in your phone and get to this year’s Bookfest. Held over three days at Noosa Leisure Centre, it’ll be impossible to walk away without having bagged a bargain or five. And it’s not only you who will benefit, with funds raised going towards Mental Health Awareness and Suicide Prevention on the Sunshine Coast.
Sunday 5 May
Your Mates Labour Day Session
The only thing better than a Sunday session, is a Sunday session on a long weekend and the Your Mates Brewhouse crew know it. Which is why they’re throwing open their doors for anyone who is chasing a whole heap of beer and delicious smoked meats. Kicking off the fun at 11am, it’s time to get the word out and round up your mates for a game of pool and a few cold ones. Bookings are recommended.
Local Taps Takeover 2.0
Taps Mooloolaba’s Local Taps Takeover is back for its second year running, bringing with it new local brewers, live entertainment and plenty of fun. Taps is all about good beer, so you can be sure that you’ll be treated to something very special.
All You Can Eat Pizza
Seems like live music kings Sol Bar saves Sunday nights (from 5pm to 8pm) for pushing out an epic $20 all-you-can-eat pizza deal. In the words of the legends themselves, you’ll spend your time navigating your way through vast oceans of cheese, peaks and valleys of fresh-made dough, mountains of meat and thick forests of fresh veggies and herbs. Your expedition only ends when you can eat no more. Sound like your kind of adventure? Then make sure you book a seat, stat.
Sunshine Coast Vegan Markets
Calling all plant-based, health conscious foodies. The Sunshine Coast Vegan Markets are back this Labour Day long weekend, popping up along Venning Street in Mooloolaba from 9am to 3pm. There will be a plethora of stalls dishing up delectable curries, pies, gozleme, doughnuts and coconut soft serve ice cream, so don't make the mistake of eating before you arrive. You can also expect sustainable living products, clothing and treats for your furry best friend—basically everything you need to live a happy, cruelty-free life.
