Sydney, if you like free shiz and all things delicious, then this is your official call to action. A Sri Lankan food festival is about to hit Sydney and your body isn’t even ready. Just a heads up, you’ll want to cancel any prospective summer #bodygoals because this festival is overloaded with all the epic colourful feasts and edible spreads ever. No seriously, brace yourself, it’s basically a melting pot of delicious nosh and tea.
On the food front, you’ll be in for cakes, thick custards, roti and spicy curry sauces, meat wrapped in banana leaves and Sri Lanka’s take on the pancake. And you’ll obvs be eating twice your bodyweight in coconut relish—it’d be rude not to, frankly. Plus, there will be a heap of live demos on Sri Lanka’s iconic Ceylon Tea and don’t worry, they’ve got your back on sampling the good stuff too.
Along with making yourself entirely comatose (in the best way), you’ll also be right in the midst of traditional handicrafts and trinkets with detailed ceramics, wooden masks, gemstone jewellery and intricate lacework all on show for gifting. Yeah, it’s pretty much one massive #treatyoself weekend.
When: 25 November, 10am-7pm and 26 November, 10-am-5pm
Where: Tumbalong Park, Darling Harbour
Cost: Free entry
