If you’re a sucker for big food antics and getting deliciously comatose from all the feeds, brace your bellies for one of the most exciting food events of the year.
A Sri Lankan food festival is hitting Sydney this weekend so cancel your plans, you have a date with all the dhal. This gem is set to be overloaded with colourful fare, giant spreads and plenty of spice kicks to test your threshold.
You’ll be able to sample Kottu (a heavenly combo of chopped up pieces of roti with veggies, meat and hot curry sauce, also known as the street hamburger of Sri Lanka), lamprais, rice and meat curries wrapped in banana leaves and hoppers—a rice and coconut crepe you will no doubt go ape over.
Plus, there will be a heap of live demos on Sri Lanka’s iconic Ceylon Tea and don’t worry, they’ve got your back on sampling the good stuff too. Head here for more info.
