Last year brought out a tonne of bangers, so we’re hoping you’ve already shot your Hottest 100 votes through and marked January 27 into your calendars, because the countdown parties are stepping it up this year. The music antics are taking place in pretty much every space imaginable so think car parks, rooftops and basements.
Here are the best Triple J Hottest 100 Countdown parties happening around Sydney this weekend.
At Public House Petersham, you’ll want to head outside for an epic car park party, full of tunes and a lucky dip tinnie pool with a BBQ catering for all foodies. And if you’re in the mood to bring your game-face, hit up their tetherball competition to take home to gold.
Of course, we couldn’t leave a rooftop party off this list. Grab your $10 tickets and head upstairs to the El Topo rooftop. Chug down frozen margaritas and dance up a storm all afternoon long.
With a BBQ grilling up out the back in the Marlborough Hotel beer garden, there’ll also be a Young Henrys Tinnie Bar. After the station hits number one, The Preatures and Pist Idiots are hitting the DJ decks for their sets.
Coogee Beach Club
Coogee Beach Club is kicking back this weekend and if you wear an Aussie band tee, you’ll get a free beer or wine. So, grab your INXS, AC/DC or 5SOS merch and wear it out and proud for some free booze.
This loaded burger joint is the place to be in Sydney’s west this Sunday. Offering $12 specials on all burgers plus $12 jugs of Furphy beer until 9pm, this place definitely needs you to hit it up. In true form, these guys will be playing Triple J’s Hottest 100 from midday.
Down south, El Sol is hosting a party to follow on from the countdown antics. Bringing us the kick ons after the number one hit plays out, head to Cronulla to listen to the best of the last 25 Hottest 100.
Bangers and bottomless tacos? Say no more. The Norfolk is having a Sh*t Shirt party, so grab your ugliest tee and book your spots for all-you-can-eat tacos and cheap beer (and the Hottest 100 Countdown of course).
Bondi Bowling Club
Hit up the Bondi Bowling Club for Triple J’s Hottest 100 Countdown for a game of barefoot bowls with the hottest 100 Australian craft brews. You can also score a Pimms jug for $20 which is convincing enough really.
Vic On The Park
Another car park party is in the mix and it’s being headed up at Vic on the Park Hotel in Marrickville. With ice-cold slushies and beers in the backyard tinnie bar this one’s for all the people who take their Hottest 100 votes very seriously.
New Brighton Hotel
The New Brighton Hotel is hosting a rooftop party because the heat is going to be around so we’re thinking the tinnie shuffle with $7 cans throughout the whole countdown.
And here's every other hectic event happening this long weekend.
