Dive into an Eastern Mediterranean bottomless brunch this weekend at Barzaari Chippendale. Chef Darryl Martin has created a menu packed with flavours from Cyprus, Lebanon, Syria and Egypt (to name a few) and spun them together for an epic brunch experience in one of Sydney’s most popular dining precincts (Chippendale, obviously).
The meal starts off with baked eggs, pastourma, haloumi and a mezze plate to die for. Then choose between a gorgeous rainbow trout with chermoula and green chilli, or spatchcock in vine leaf, gazan tomato salsa and toum (that creamy garlic sauce you dream about at night). You’ll be given yummy sides to share and finish off your meal with flaky, wonderful, syrupy layers of baklava that may actually bring tears to your eyes.
Taking further inspo from the region, the menu’s set up so that each dish can be shared between everyone at the table, family-style. It’s a steal at just $75 per person, with two hours of bottomless brunch cocktails and spritzes inspired by the flavours of the menu, like the strawberry royal; that’s strawberry puree, rose water, lime, freeze-dried strawberry, prosecco, heaven.
