If you’re a sucker for independent brews then you’ll want to keep this weekend free.

Australia’s very first dedicated Indie Beer Day is hitting Sydney on Saturday, which means you’ll be at the mercy of a solid collection of IBA-member breweries and venues ready to churn out the good stuff.

Expect tonnes of happy hours and mean beer deals: at Akasha you’ll get  free middies if you ask for an indie beer between 2pm – 3pm, and at Glebe’s 12 Taps you’ll get half-priced beer from 1:30pm.

You can also swing by Great Hops Brewing Co., which is cutting 20 percent off IPA pints all day, or Endeavour Tap Rooms, which is offering $5 schmiddies. In the Inner West, Rocks Brewing Company will be throwing a happy hour deal on their core range beers from 2pm – 3pm.

But if you’re looking for the ultimate destination to get the most bang for your buck, hit up Precinct 75 for the third annual beer and food truck event hosted by Willie The Boatman. The Inner West brewery will be sharing the space with The Grifter Brewing Company, Yulli’s Brews and Young Henry’s, plus Fired Up BBQ & Burgers, Ciccone & Sons Gelateria and The Hive Bar for all your feasting needs.
