The World’s First Rollercoaster Cruise Ship Is Coming In 2020

Move over Disneyland, the world’s first rollercoaster is coming to an ocean near you in 2020.

Carnival Cruise Line will be launching the high speed coaster aptly named BOLT on the largest ship in its fleet, Mardi Gras, in just over a year’s time.

At 57 metres above sea level, the joyride accelerates like a race car and promises twists, turns and drops along the 243 metre track above the ship’s deck.

Speeding up to 65km per hour, if you’re a lightweight when it comes to coasters (or cruise ship coasters for that matter) you can choose your own speed.

Carnival Cruises offer everything from waterparks and a high ropes challenge to mini golf and a suspended, pedal-powered course named SkyRide, but the rollercoaster will take things to all new levels.

Mardi Gras will be cruising to and from Florida so you can always tack on a trip to Disney World while you’re in the area.
