Revolve Records & Relics
Boasting one of Sydney's largest collections of vinyl, Revolve Records & Relics is a crate-digging haven. Tables are overflowing with an enormous range of LPs, EPs, 12", 45s, CD's and deletions, whilst the walls are packed with vintage hi-fi equipment and bric-a-brac.
Mojo Record Bar | York Street
Selling a great collection of records out front, and drinks 'round the back, at Mojo it's all about the music. You'll find old record covers lining the top of the bar and vintage posters hanging from the walls—while on the shelves there's a curated mix of soul, blues, jazz, country, psychedelic, folk and much more.
Title Music Film Books
A self-dubbed "cultural emporium", the TITLE store boasts a handpicked assortment of DVDs, quality boxsets, unique books and a wide-ranging collection of music on vinyl and CD. Classics sit side-by-side with the obscure, out of print and hard to find— prepare to while away the better part of an afternoon.
The Vintage Record
If you're passionate about vinyl, head to The Vintage Record in Annandale. Stocking quality vinyl from the last 60 years, as well as new releases and re-issues, you'll find everything from Blues to Soul, Funk and tons of classic rock at this iconic record shop.
From the Velvet Underground to Blonde Redhead, this Newtown institution houses a wealth of vinyl treasure. Repressed Records specialise in Australian independent music, stocking labels such as RIP Society, Negative Guest List and Bedroom Suck Records.
Red Eye Records
Established in 1981, Red Eye Records is Sydney's largest independent music retailer. Sift through their impressive and eclectic collection of imported and local Australian music spanning a mishmash of genres, you won't be disappointed!
This hole-in-the-wall record store is a collector's wonderland. Trawl through an extensive collection of CDs, cult-classic DVDs and vinyl, as well as original pressings, obscure compilations, and a peppering of cassettes. Keep your eyes peeled for rarities at Lawson's Records.
You say vinyl, we say Newtown! If you haven’t noticed by now, Newtown is Sydney’s main go-to when it comes to re-stocking your collection with vinyl everything. Egg Records is one of the O.Gs, having been around before vinyl was cool again—head here to pick up new and used LPs, CDs, cult movies and memorabilia.
Utopia Records is Sydney’s home of metal, so if that’s your jam then listen in. This place is well-stocked with CDs, DVDs (and Blu-Rays), but they’ve also got a pretty insane collection of new and used vinyl along with any vinyl accessories you might now need.
