8 Of The Best Watches

Nowadays, with everyone clinging to their smart phones for dear life, you might think the humble old wristwatch has been replaced as the chosen time keeper. Maybe so, but we’re not giving them up any time soon when they look this darn good! Whether you favour yours sleek, ladylike, sporty, or with look-at-my-bells-and-whistles, there’s a watch out there with your name on it, even if you don’t go by Marc or Michael.

Here are 8 of the best watches we’ve clocked.

#1 The Rose Gold Among the Thorns

It was love at first sight with this Nixon beauty. The perfect chunky band, the faceted face, the romantic rose gold hue. Just dreamy.

#2 The Sports Star

Even city-slickers get the blues, and we’ll be sobbing into our sandwiches until we get our mitts on this sporty little Briston number. We’re teaming ours with our best striped top and leather jacket combo (link to prev stories).

#3 Black (& White) Beauty

Just looking at this monochrome stunner by the clever Melbourne folk at AÃRK Collective puts a smile on our dial. The black and white combo is oh-so-sharp and the styling is so on point, we’d wear it even if the battery went flat. (Not that it would, of course!)

#4 Tech-sy Beast

When function and form collide, ‘tis a truly beautiful thing. The long-awaited Apple watch does everything but cook you dinner. We have our wallets at the ready and our eye on the prize.

#5 The Bee’s Knees

Yellow and black can be a tricky combo, but we’re buzzing over Larson & Jennings’ Kulor watch. Besides, stealing from the boys is one of our favourite pastimes.

#6 Simplicity at its Best

A horse is a horse, of course of course, except when it’s a watch. In particular, this one from our new fave Sydney accessories brand, The Horse.  We’re obsessed with the combo of the matt black face, mimimal features and lush leather band in creamy pale tan.

#7 The Wear-With-Anything Watch

The Fifth is a Melbourne watch brand with a unique twist: they release five styles on the 5th of each month, which are then sold online for five days only. It just so happens that June 5th is World Environment day, and they’re planting a tree for each watch sold with a tan band. Oh, you guys!

#8 Regatta Chic

Sometimes, you just can't beat a classic, which is why we’re lusting after this timeless time-keeper with its oh-so-chic navy and white band and gold detail. The simple white face is also super easy to read and the round shape will never date. Team with white jeans, preferably on a yacht.
