A Disney Classics Film Festival Is Screening And We’ve Basically Lost It!

Now, this is a festival I can get around.

This August, New Farm Cinemas have very kindly curated a film festival for your inner child with a selection of Disney Classics bangers. With the most important term in that phrase being ‘Disney’ and the second most important being ‘Classics’, the line-up of films is limited to Walt-approved features minted in the 90s with not a trace of CGI anywhere.

The line-up includes all of our all-time favourite features, which will be screened as post-brunch matinees at 10am every Saturday and Sunday of August—perfect for weekend entertaining with small ones (or, just your mates?). If you love a fable and a talking beast you’ll bloody froth the films on offer. First up, it’s monochromatic pupperinos galore with 101 Dalmatians. Next we’ve got the cervine bildungsroman Bambi, followed by the gravity-defying Dumbo and then finished off with the first movie that made me cry and the best Hamlet adaptation of all time,The Lion King.

And if that wasn’t exciting enough, tickets are an absolute STEAL, going for just $9 a pop, which leaves plenty of loose change to get the little tykes hyped up on choc-tops and cordial from the candy bar.
