The New Gold Coast Fashion Revolution You’ll Wanna Be A Part Of

We love ourselves a good thrifty find! And that’s exactly why we were crazy excited to learn about a new clothes borrowing website being born right here in SE Queensland.

The brainchild of inspiring sustainable fashion trailblazer Edda Hamar and her tight-knit team—the same crew behind Undress Runways and Naked magazine—Undress is the next logical step in the share economy crusade.

Set to become the Airbnb and Uber of the fashion world, this slick and user-friendly website will be a peer-to-peer marketplace allowing mindful fashionistas to borrow and enjoy new clothes for all occasions. Prepare for your wardrobe options to expand 10 fold, without breaking the bank. Um, yes please!

The team has so much faith in what they’ve developed that—once they roll out and put the platform through its paces here on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane—they already have the rest of Australia and then London firmly in their sights. Dream big, we say! Basically the sky is the limit, with the Undress concept having every potential to become a global transforming movement. One that’ll help keep mountains of clothing out of landfill and hopefully someday squash the trend for cheap, fast fashion.

Already dreaming about the possibilities? Us, too! Hundreds of new-to-you outfits to browse and borrow, at the click of a finger. Don’t get us wrong, we still love a rummage through the musty op shop racks, but it’s intended the goodies available on Undress will be far superior to what you’ll find at your local Lifeline.

Undress will be a trustworthy location to finally part with your gorgeous Spell Lovebird maxi that you’ve simply been Insta-papped in too many times. Or, make some extra coin by loaning out your Zimmerman playsuit and free yourself from the guilt that it cost the equivalent of a month’s rent. Maybe you’re in desperate need of a so-hip-it-hurts dress for Saturday night’s hot date with the girls? Just think, borrowing a new outfit will be a fraction of the price of actually buying something new, so you’ll have more cashola to spend on #allofthecocktails.

We’ve got all the good feels about this one. Undress is preparing for their world first launch this April, so head over to their Insta and give them a follow to learn all you need to know about “borrowing”. If you’re an “owner” with quality clothing to list, jump on the website now to register your interest and be a part of history.
