What happens when two of our favourite yet simple sweet treats beautifully collide together? Take the humble doughnut and marry it with the epitome of Aussie cuisine—the lamington—and, well, magic happens.
Introducing the Lamington Doughnut, the most ingenious creation we’re yet to wrap our mouths around. Not only are Lamington Doughnuts an actual edible thing, but they now exist on the Gold Coast and we’re a tad beside ourselves, because yum!
The legends at one of the Coast’s favourite bakehouses, Paddock Bakery have one-upped themselves yet again, releasing their glorious new treat this morning. A semi sourdough doughnut with a raspberry jam centre is dipped in chocolate before being rolled in a magnificent bed of shredded coconut, and voila!
If you’re reading this, we anticipate they’ve been snapped up in seconds this morning, but knowing Paddock they’ll be pumping these beauties out for a few more weeks yet. So, get up early with those really annoying birds and grab one with your daily cuppa joe. Move over Dippy Eggs, there’s a new star in town.
