Listers, we have your September sorted. Spring has sprung and we’re excited to be celebrating in the very best way possible—Cherry Blossom Festival is hitting town, dishing up a month of delicious Japanese food events.

If you’ve ever seen the Cherry Blossoms (traditionally known as Sakura) in Japan in spring time, you’ll know this is a time of year well worth celebrating, not that we need an excuse!

Melbourne is in for a month-long festival of Japanese-inspired treats—think pop-up parties, Japanese whiskeys, and epic dessert plates, thanks to one of our favourite Japanese restaurants, Saké.

We’ve already locked these events in to our diaries. You’ll be kicking yourselves if you don’t too.

Ladies Lunch: Food For Beauty

Saturday 12th September from 12pm
Round up the gang and treat yourselves, because this is the ultimate girl’s afternoon. An extensive meal of truly excellent Japanese food, beauty tips from a SKII beauty expert and Veuve Clicquot Rose…what’s not to love? You can book spots for you and your gal pals here, but you’ll need to be quick—these spots are going to fly.

Cherry Blossom Dinner

Wednesday 16th September, from 6:30pm
Let Saké’s Executive Chef treat you to a super luxe and intimate Omakase dinner, meaning each course is a complete surprise until the moment it’s served. You’ll also be treated to a Cherry Blossom cocktail on arrival. Make a booking here.

Cherry Blossom Pop Up Party

Thursday 24th September, 6:00pm
Prime riverside location, a live DJ, cocktails and Japanese food stations that we can get involved with. Tick, tick aaannnd tick. Pop-up parties are our favourite kind of event, and with good reason—only the coolest in-the-know kids will be there. Grab some mates and wind down to the end of the week. Find your tickets here.

Whisky Wednesdays

Wednesday 23rd and 30th September from, 6:00pm
One for the gents, Whisky Wednesdays are the ultimate way to cure the hump-day blues. Come along and get your shoes shined and enjoy whisky flights, whisky cocktails and top-notch Japanese bar food. How very suave. Further details and bookings here.

Cherry Blossom Dessert Plate

Every Saturday & Sunday in September from 3:00pm
Think high tea, but better. Kick back and indulge in a dessert plate of Japanese treats, created especially for Cherry Blossom Festival.
