Heads up, wine junkies. The Winemakers of Rutherglen are bringing a pop-up wine bar to Melbourne and it’s gonna be freaking amazing. From August 25 – 27 you’ll be able to sip the finest vintages from the Rutherglen wine region right, here in the big smoke.
Here’s the plan. Melbourne’s Driver Lane is going to be transformed into a winter-wonderland-themed wine bar. We’re talking fairy lights, wine barrels, Australian foliage, acoustic tunes and a cellar door (for obligatory tastings).
You’ll get the chance to chat to some of Rutherglen’s top winemakers and finally learn how to pronounce ‘terroir’. There’ll be plenty of samples on offer, and of course a selection of bottles for you to take home. With 150 years of winemaking experience, you just know this is gonna taste good.
Snobby wine lingo is welcome, but not required. If in doubt, just say ‘oaky’.
When: August 25 5pm-10pm, August 26 12pm-11pm,August 27 12pm-6pm
Where: Driver Lane, Melbourne
