It's finally here guys! Melbourne's Amy Winehouse: A Family Portrait exhibition is opening tomorrow at the Jewish Museum Of Australia.
The announcement dropped back in February: Melbourne would be getting an exclusive Amy Winehouse exhibition, and (in what has to be the social coup of 2017) St Kilda’s Jewish Museum would be getting the hosting rights.
The exhibition is running from 22 October to 25 March 2018, and you can get tickets online here. It’s going to be a retrospective look at Winehouse’s stellar career, complete with a substantial music program, curated by the museum. Amy's family have provided personal items from her life, including clothes, childhood books, her first guitar, vinyl records and numerous personal writings.
As part of the exhibition, there's going to be dedicated performances at Melbourne Music Week, a tribute show at St Kilda Fest, plus a series of Thursday late-night events at the museum itself, with covers from local artists singing a variety of Winehouse’s musical genres—jazz, soul, motown and hip hop.
