Okay, on the surface, sucking a cold lager while holding the lotus position would seem to demean both yoga AND beer. But think about it. Beer is already quite a contemplative drink. The slow deliberation of that perfect pour...your first sip, so crisp and refreshing...the way condensation gathers on the glass like morning dew on a meadow in springtime...
...er, yes, where were we? Oh yeah. Beer yoga is coming to Melbourne! You’ll soon be able to master new techniques like the ‘Chug Pose’ and ‘Tipsy Dancer’ (real actual poses, we’re not making them up) under the guidance of a qualified beer yoga type person. Don’t ask us what their qualification are; we have no idea.
It’s all thanks to Omission Beer, a gluten-free beer brand from the States. The idea is to draw CBD office workers away from an unhealthy sedentary lifestyle, and give them free beer instead. There’ll be two classes running at lunchtime at the end of August. Did we mention it’s 100% free? Downward delicious.
Where: Midtown Melbourne, 246 Bourke St
When: 12pm & 1pm, 30 – 31 August
