Culture vultures, get excited – Exxopolis, the incredible sculpture-cum-luminarium direct from the UK, is launching next Thursday 14th August!
Part of the first ever Glow Winter Arts Festival, a celebration of the City of Stonnington's vibrant arts and culture scene, Exxopolis is a one-of-a-kind exhibit; an inflatable sculpture that attendees can walk through and immerse themselves in, almost as if they're exploring another world.
If you've never visited a luminarium before, well, you're in for a treat! Designed by UK-based Architects of Air, a luminarium is a custom-designed inflatable sculpture featuring winding tunnels, seemingly sky-high domed ceilings, colourful light projections and music – a true feast for the senses that makes it seem like you've stepped into another world.
Architects of Air's luminariums have travelled the world, amazing crowds from across Europe, Asia and the US. The beauty of the luminariums is that no two are the same; each have their own unique design features and Exxopolis at the Glow Winter Arts Festival is no different.
It's a huge structure that has to be seen to be believed; 53 metres in length and 9 metres in height (half a football field!), the only space the City of Stonnington could find large enough to house Exxopolis was the Jam Factory's rooftop carpark. The sights, the sounds, and the sheer size all lend themselves to the out-of-this-world experience that is Exxopolis.
So, whether you're an arts buff or just keen to try something new, out for date night or scrambling to find something to do with the kids, a visit to Exxopolis is a must. Prepare to be transported!
