Something wicked this way comes...and it’s not Wicked | The Musical. It’s Harry Potter & The freaking Cursed Child, the time-travelling, wand waving, spin-off sensation.
The news broke last year that HPATCC was on its way to Melbourne (acronyms are fun). But now we know the official ticket release date. Put a big red circle in your diaries around Monday 6 August (9am), because that’s when you’ll be able to get your mitts on Harry Potter tickets.
The website you’re going to need is HarryPotterThePlay.com. Avoid those second-hand scalping sites like the plague—there’s a good bet you’re being sold a ticket that doesn’t exist.
So what can you do in the meantime? Sign up for the mailing list. Everyone on the list will get priority booking access before the general public.
Melbourne shows are scheduled to start at The Princess Theatre from 16 January 2019, and (as you know by now) the play comes in two parts. There’ll be options to see both parts on the same day, broken up on non-consecutive days, or individually (if you don’t care about how stories begin or end...weirdo).
You can bet these tickets will be rarer than vintage Nimbus 2000s, so don’t hang about.
It may not be HP, but it's still pretty damn cool. Check out Melbourne's new pop-up candy museum.
