It's official: Jean Paul Gaultier, aka His Striped Holiness, is coming to Melbourne for Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival - and judging by the popularity of his exhibition at the NGV last year, there are a lot of people excited about his impending visit.

It has been announced today that JPG will present his latest collection in collaboration with Target at VAMFF, leading the runway show on 9 March, before being present the next day at the Bourke St Melbourne Target store opening - expect mayhem, and perhaps try your luck online if you're not a fan of being swept away by a sea of overexcited shoppers.

“Each and every time I visit Australia, I fall in love with the local culture and attitude towards fashion, and continually find inspiration in my surroundings,” said JPG himself of the upcoming collection launch. “The laid-back street-style and design ethos of Australians is refreshing – I love that there are fewer rules, and Melbournians in particular embrace diversity.”

The Jean Paul Gaultier for Target collection will officially launch in selected stores and online on March 10, with 100 pieces of clothing and homewares on offer to eager shoppers. Previously, Target have launched designer collaborations with Missoni, Dion Lee, Stella McCartney and Danni Minogue.
