Any event that's centred around cheese is an absolute must in our books. Whether you love of a slice of something hard and crumbling, go weak at the knees for an oozing brie, or are committed to a lifetime of washed rinds that stink out the fridge for days, grab your diary-friendly pants because Melbourne is getting ANOTHER incredible cheese festival.
On Friday 19 February, the Testing Grounds in Southbank will be transformed into Cheese Please, a festival celebrating all things dairy that will showcase the creme de la creme of cheeses from around Australia.
The twilight food festival plays host to the short-list of cheeses that made the cut for the 2016 Australian Grand Dairy Awards (the winners are announced on 3 February, folks!), meaning that you'll be able to taste all of the lactose-laced delicacies that our great country has to offer in one sitting. Everyone from small-town dairies and cheese producers to some of the biggest names in the business will be serving up samples, with top cheese producing experts on hand to dish out advice on what to pair your favourite indulgence with.
Feeling overwhelmed thinking about all that cheese? If you're in need of more dairy action, Cheese Please will also be presenting a selection of the best desserts, dips, yoghurts, creams, butters and milks, as well as welcoming some of Melbourne's most delicious food trucks to the Testing Grounds where attendees can wrap their lips around some more substantial (and less dairy-heavy...) nibbles on the night.
Of course, Cheese Please wouldn't be complete without a thirst-quenching drink in hand. The bar will be open all night, serving ice cold craft beers and a variety of options for you non-beer drinkers, making for a blissful summer evening centred around two of our favourite things: Cheese and tipples.
However you'd better be quick to add your name to the ballot, Listers - you unfortunately can't show up on the night demanding cheesy goodness. While this Melbourne cheese festival is absolutely free to attend, there are a limited number of tickets available so you have two options: Take your chances in the official ballot and leave your details here, or pop in your details below because we are giving away 25 double passes!
OR BOTH BECAUSE, CHEESE.
Cheese Please takes place on Friday 19 Febraury from 5pm - 9pm at the Testing Grounds, Southbank. If you're successful in the ballot for tickets, you will be notified on 8 February.
