You’ve been so patient Melbourne but the time has finally come. Yep, it’s that time of year again where we gather together for a delicious 18 days to gorge ourselves silly with spicy noodles, BBQ pork buns, juicy dumplings, gelato and well, pretty much anything we can get our hands on.
The Night Noodle Markets are back with their biggest line-up to date. Starting 7 November, over 20 food trucks and vendors will set up shop at Birrarung Marr, touting their specialty recipes and releasing delicious, smoky aromas in the air. There’ll be hanging lanterns, neon lights, live music and DJs, a stunning view of Melbourne city and some of the best Asian street food you can find.
Guests will find themselves spoilt for choice with the sheer amount of dishes available. Some dishes to get hyped about are Poklol x Puffle’s quirky cone-shaped cheese waffles (two of our favourite things), Hoy Pinoy’s famous Filipino BBQ and Street Food, Wonderbao’s fluffy steamed pork buns, Miso Fresh’s soba noodles, Kumokumo’s fluffy pillow-soft pancakes, and Scoopy Milk Bar’s Korean shaved ice dessert, Bingsu.
Other stalls include the crowd favourite Okonomiyaking, Pham Sisters, Let’s Do Yum Cha, Gelato Messina, May’s Malaysian, Drumplings, Bao Brothers, Donburi Station, Bangkok Street Food, Fry’D Ice Cream (don’t ask us how they manage to deep-fry ice cream, all we know is that it’s delicious), Teppanyaki Noodles, Nem n Nem (Vietnamese hawker fare including crispy chicken banh mis ), Wok Master, Tokosan and more to tickle every tastebud.
It’s looking to be a night of serious eating, drinking, and appreciation for Asian cuisine. Even if you’re a seasoned foodie, you won’t be disappointed.
The Market is going cash-free again this year so you can spend less time waiting and more time enjoying the vibes. There’ll also be 2x discounted DiDi rides per person (code “DIDINNM”) so you can rock up to the market before anyone else. These guys have literally everything planned out for us, it’s amazing. Now, it’s time to gather your pals and start planning a food itinerary. It’s going to be sooo good.
