Second perhaps only to St. Patrick’s Day, Oktoberfest is the best globally recognized festival that gives patrons carte blanche to swig as many froffies as possible. And, like every other city around the world, we’ll be celebrating Oktoberfest in Melbourne with just as much gusto as if we were sipping Kolsh in Cologne, or downing biers in Berlin.
Celebrations have already kicked off for Oktoberfest in Melbourne but, before the world’s favourite drinking festival really hits its stride, we’ve rounded up the best places to gather your mates, tuck into a pretzel and lift a stein this Oktoberfest in Melbourne. Prost!
With exclusive German beer flights, games nights on Monday evenings, keg-tapping parties and the usual Germanic entertainment, Munich Brauhaus is one of the best places for Oktoberfest parties in Melbourne.
The Southwharf venue has a whole calendar of events planned (yup, it’s petty much Oktoberfest all day, every day here…) but as for our picks of the bunch, the Thursday evening Jagermeister parties, hosted every second Thursday of the month—because you’ll need two whole weeks to recover from the last one—and the keg-tapping finale on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st October are always fantastic.
