Order Up, Rockwell And Sons Are Bringing Back Their Smash Burger To Get You Through Lockdown

Melbourne lost one of the good ones when Rockwell and Sons closed its doors. But now, in some kind of culinary rise-of-the-phoenix, the stalwarts of comfort food return with a limited run of the famed double patty smash burger, their mac ‘n’ cheese and a black bean burger for the vegos.

Anyone who tried one of the aforementioned smash burgers would share the same thought that Rockwell and Sons had in fact included some sort of highly addictive ingredient. It turns out the winning formula consists of two Conners Beef patties, a couple of Kraft singles and a slathering of Rockwell special sauce inside a Martin’s Potato Bun—which is exactly what you get when you order your take-home pack.

To keep things fresh, there’s a small amount of prep to do at home, like frying up the patties and melting the cheese on top. All very simple and worth the 15 odd minutes in the kitchen to reminisce about simpler times via a double patty cheeseburger.

Not having a side with your buns is basically sacrilege, and the team have brought back a heavy-hitter from the menu to accompany your meal. Do yourself a favour and chuck an order of mac ‘n’ cheese in along with your double patty or black bean burger.
