There is literally nothing more hilariously cute than watching a sausage dog run, amirite? I mean, they’re not exactly designed for efficiency. The only thing we can think of that’s got more cute-factor is an entire pack of Dachshunds running en masse… And that’s EXACTLY what Melbourne’s very first sausage dog race is all about!
On Saturday 19th September, Hophaus Bier Bar, Dachshund Rescue Australia and My Dachshund Online are hosing Melbourne’s very first Teckelrennen, or sausage dog race, if you don’t speak German.
It’s going to be a day of dog-loving fun, kicking off at 10.30am at Podium Courtyard, Southgate. With bratwurst provided by the Hophaus team and $1 from every one sold going to the Dachshund Rescue Australia charity, as well the entirety of every $10 doggy registration fee, it’s certainly a race for a good cause.
