The festival event of the summer is upon us! Melbourne, welcome The Australian Open Festival – the way to get amongst the tennis action, while also celebrating the best of Melbourne’s dining, and hottest beats.

Set along the banks of the Yarra River, The Australian Open Festival will take place throughout the tournament at Birrarung Marr. If you can’t get up close to catch the match in person, forget watching it from your couch - this year it’s all about catching the action on the big screen, while chowing down on Melbourne’s finest eats by the river.

Expect delicious noms from the likes of Mamasita, Uncle, Gazi, Cobb Lane, Huxtable ft Mr Claws, Mistress Estelle, and Huxtaburger, plus healthy treats from Combi and Organic Avenue pressed juices. Melbourne favourite Gelato Messina will cover dessert!

Looking for the party? Load ‘em up, bartender. With the drinks flowing and DJs spinning tracks long into the afternoon, the Canadian Club Racquet Club is the place to be! For a more chilled out drink head down to the combined Heineken and Jacob's Creek bar on the Lower Terrace.

If you’re making a day of it with the kids, Birrarung Marr’s middle terrace will be decked out with a Nickelodeon giant inflatable playground, free tennis on the mini ANZ Tennis Hot Shots courts and a Woolworths Kid Zone with fresh fruit frozen yogurt and ballkid fun and games.

A tennis-head or not, entry to the event is free - so make no mistake and get yourself (and the crew) down to the river for The Australian Open Festival 2016.

The Australian Open Festival will be open daily from 7am, 18 to 31 January, 2016. Entry is free.
