By Clare Acheson - 01 Sep 2015

Listers, September is here and with it comes another ten epic things to do in Melbourne this month. To help you get through all the amazing dates for your diary, we’ve put together the MINI Edition countdown of the top 10 things to do in Melbourne in September. Get busy, people!

#1. Eat All The Fried Chicken At FAT Fried And Tasty

The team behind Two Little Pigs Charcuterie and Grind are letting it all hang out at their amazing new hip hop and fried chicken venture, FAT Fried And Tasty. If you love your #dudefood and thickshakes, this new East Brunswick venue is an absolute must-do. As for what to eat? Go for the chicken, waffles, ice cream and syrup with a salted caramel shake, and think about the calories later.

#2. Celebrate Northcote Social Club’s 10th Birthday With An Epic Gig

One of Melbourne’s best live music venues, Northcote Social Club, celebrates an entire decade of awesome gigs when it turns ten years old this month. Haitus Kaiyote, Clare Bowditch and Andy Bull have all locked in live shows to get the party started…Pick up a ticket to any of the gigs in September and head north to toast one of our city’s legendary venues.

St Kilda bar and restaurant the St Hotel becomes an Asian night bazaar thanks to the team behind Hanoi Hannah, Tokyo Tina and Saigon Sally, for one night only from 5pm on 27th September. #5. Sip A Cocktail At The Everleigh’s New Love, Heartbreaker

Melbourne’s bar scene is well and truly thriving, and the hottest name around this month is Heartbreaker, the new CBD die bar from Fitzroy cocktail royalty The Everleigh. Drop by the Russell Street bar for a drink and a round of pool.

#6. Listen Out Comes To Melbourne

Catch international acts and local talent at this year’s Listen Out day festival, which comes to St Kilda’s Catani Gardens on Saturday 26th September. Heaps of your favourite Mexican cantinas will be there, including Touche Hombre, Mamasita, Mesa Verde (yes, that’s their skull tequila bottle in the MINI Edition video!) and Los Hermanos, so you can expect a taco-filled day of Mexican music, markets and more. Yum.
