There aren’t too many things that are better than sitting down to lunch overlooking the Indian Ocean in Cottesloe on a stunning winter’s day, but getting to call it work comes a close second.
Walking in to beautiful eatery Cott & Co on a recent Friday, I thanked my lucky stars that I get to call this beautiful city home and also that my job involves eating really delicious food.
Cott & Co really is the epitome of beachside dining in Perth. The modern and stylish restaurant has a rustic feel, while still feeling breezy, fun and beachy. Oh and of course it makes the most of its primo position overlooking Cott beach with beautiful, big open windows.
The menu is all about local and seasonal produce here, with seafood, not surprisingly, the star attraction.
You might be thinking the location may mean paying a pretty penny for lunch but the fancy view doesn’t come with a fancy price. In fact, from Monday to Friday at Cott & Co, you can get a two-course lunch for two people for $55. Ridic good value!
Deciding on entree and main (you could also choose main and dessert or entree and dessert if you’re feeling crazy), I started proceedings with the zucchini fritters with a rocket, mint and fetta salad. The fritters were fresh, packed full of flavour and were perfectly complemented by a cheeky glass of champers (it was Friday after all!).
On to mains and the generous serving of maple-roasted pumpkin risotto with kale and goats cheese was a carb-lovers dream while the saffron and tomato braised barramundi, which came with a hefty serving of kipfler spuds, was scrumptious and cooked to perfection, literally falling apart on my fork.
While we didn’t indulge in dessert this time around, both the vanilla bean panna cotta and spiced apple tarte tartin looked really yummy—the perfect excuse to come back for this deal again soon me thinks!
If you’re looking for a laid back weekday haunt that won’t break the bank, Cott & Co could just be your new bestie.
