Breakfast—hands down the most important (and delicious) meal of the day. What’s not to love about eggs, pancakes, hash browns and porridge? If it was up to us we would eat breakfast for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
When it comes to the best breakfast in Perth, there’s a whole lotta competition out there. So we asked you, the people of Perth, for some very important advice. Here’s who you think serves Perth’s best breakfast!
#1 Kazoomies Feel Good Food
Four words: Zaldeesh’s lamb red shakshuka. That’s what breakfast dreams are made of. Poached eggs in a slow cooked tomato sauce with cinnamon kadaif lamb—it’s no surprise you voted Kazoomies number one!
#2 Jack & Jill
We hope you’re happy to leave your quiet life behind Hills folk, because the people of Perth are coming for you! Jack & Jill, Kalamunda’s bustling breakfast spot, serves a freakin’ killer brioche French toast with hibiscus curd, cumquat jam, vanilla cream and fresh berries. It’s insane in the membrane!
#3 Gusto Food
Famous for their crumpets, Gusto Food in South Perth is so good you can’t even make a booking on the weekend. These guys also serve a winning pulled pork benedict and well as some deliciously sweet cinnamon French toast. Get in line!
#4 The Shipping Lane
Beach visits are best in the morning and even better when followed with breakfast at The Shipping Lane in North Freo. We love the crispy potato stack with haloumi, smashed avo, pumpkin, field mushroom and mint sour cream. Your furry friend is welcome too!
#5 Sayers Sister
Perth, we agree with you, Sayers Sister is definitely one of Perth’s best breakfast spots. We go gaga over with cornbread with maple roasted ironbark pumpkin, baked ricotta, blackened corn salsa and poached eggs.
#6 George Street Quarters
Lazy weekends are best spent at George Street Quarters where you can get your mitts on their tasty all-day breakfast fare. There’s everything from avocado smash and buddha bowls to shakshuka and blue swimmer crab omelettes. Yum!
#7 Little Guildford
If you haven’t heard, Guildford is on the up and up, and it could well be due to this little place. With a simple and delicious breakfast menu, we’re as keen as beans to try out the eggs on fire—soft poached eggs on corn and chilli potato cakes, fresh spinach, spicy sauce, jalapenos, more chilli and Greek yoghurt.
#8 Lenny The Ox
This little ray of sunshine on Wray Ave in Freo is all about delicious breakfasts. From the porridge with rhubarb and apple to the salmon omelette with smoked curd, beets and avocado, it’s all good here!
#9 Mary Street Bakery
If you’ve not experienced Mary Street Bakery’s all-day breakfast menu you can’t call yourself a true Perthian. Whether you like to keep things simple with some slow cooked eggs on buttered (house made) toast, or turn the cray cray dial up a notch with the fried chicken on buttermilk pancakes, you won’t be disappointed.
Our own slice of the Big Apple right in the heart of West Leederville—Hylin breakfasts are the bomb.com. We can’t go past the open brekky burger, served with two poached eggs, smoked bacon, avocado smash and a potato rosti on a pretzel bun. That’s breakfast perfection right there, folks.
And here’s 50 Perth cafes WE think you should have had breakfast at.
