Grab The Tonic, A Brand New Rottnest Island Gin Has Just Landed In Perth

Wine glass full of Rottnest Island Gin and tonic with a slice of lemon and black peppercorns.

We might not be able to go to Rottnest right now, but a brand new Rottnest Island Gin has just dropped in Perth, and that’s almost as good.

Brought to us by Damian and Nicole, the much-loved legends behind The Wine Thief in West Leederville, Rottnest Island Gin is the result of a long-held dream and a whole lot of hard work.

These guys set out to produce a gin that would have you believe you were sitting on the balcony of your Rottnest bungalow, looking out over the white sand and turquoise bays and breathing in that fresh Rottnest air, filled with salt, pine and Rotto’s native flora.

What they imagined would be a pretty simple task turned into a three-year journey to make sure they had the distilling process down pat, were able to source the native Rottnest botanicals sustainably, had the perfect bottle and label and, most importantly, got the taste just right.

After a whole lot of hard work, they have hit the jackpot with a gin that is the closest thing you’ll get to Rottnest right now. It's savoury and salty and ready to be mixed with your favourite gin pairings; whether you like it simple with tonic and a slice of lemon or you want to get fancy. In fact, according to one of The Wine Thief employees, it also goes pretty well in your morning coffee, if you're into that kind of thing.

It’s only available at The Wine Thief, so you’ll want to get in touch with them via email or pop in (while maintaining safe physical distancing of course) and pick it up.

Need more booze? You can get these cocktails takeaway.
