Get Your Nails Did | 5 Of The Best Manicures

By Claire Plush
15th Jan 2016

Ain’t no place for grimy, chipped nails in 2016, woman! Colourful, home jobs with “I-had to-go-the-loo” dints and painted cuticles, just aren’t going to cut it no more. It’s time to get your nails did. As in, professionally.

And we know just where to get the best manicures on the Sunshine Coast. So, here you go, the info you need for your best nails yet, at your fingertips. Ain’t life grand?

Stephanies Ocean Spa

We’re not sure where to start with somewhere as all-encompassing as Stephanies. It’s pretty much the epitome of the perfect spa sanctuary, and their Soul Suite sets the scene for a first-class manicure experience. Built-in booths, a theatre projector to catch a chick flick, if you’re after a finger-pleasing treatment grab four of your fave girls and head to this Noosa spa for a luxe nail party. The Exquisite Spa Manicure is a 60-minute lavish treatment that will see your hands, arms, and nails being exfoliated, hydrated, and protected. It’d be criminal not to include Stephanie’s in our roundup of the best manicures on the Sunshine Coast. We’re giving this one a big two thumbs up!

SKIN By Jessica Luise

You read right. This is a skin-focused beauty salon but hands are covered in the stuff, right? So you can be sure that as much as your nails are going to get some love, the SKIN team will also work their magic in making your hands look years younger and feel oh-so-soft. We’re loving the Deluxe Manicure—one-hour of hand and nail indulgence for under $60. Bargain!

Ikatan Spa

So you wanna get a manicure but you don’t want a wham-bam experience, where your nails have been cut, buffed and polished before you’ve even truly had a moment to relax. We get it. So do the therapists at Ikatan. Book in a Deluxe Manicure and while your hands are hydrating in a hot towel wrap, you’ll get a bit of neck and shoulder attention to help wind down. There’s also a glass of bubbly or pot of T2 tea waiting for you. But the best bit—although all bits are pretty good—you’ll bag a complimentary nail polish to take home for when you want to drift back to the heavenly manicure, but can’t find the time or spare cash to do so.

Sheer Bliss Beauty

The nail haven of southern Coasters, Sheer Bliss Beauty is infamous in Caloundra as giving one of the best manicures on the Sunshine Coast. And it won’t dig into your budget too much, which means it can totally become a regular thing. Go for the Exotic Hand Ritual and you’ll open yourself up to 30 minutes of serious hand pampering. After your paws are nourished with rejuvenating oils, you’ll get a complete tidy up (cuticles are pushed, not cut here!), finished with a coat of colour. Shellac is a mainstay on this salon’s shelves but it will cost you a little extra. Living at the northern tip of Coast? Sheer Bliss has a second store at Noosa Marina.

We’re not gasbagging about weekend spa retreats here, we’re talking real nail professionals. And the team at aGlo are just that! Keep it simple with a file, shape and pop of Shellac polish or opt for Bio Sculpture overlay if you want your nails to last the stretch and be left completely unscathed when it’s time for removal. Very reasonable prices, and perfectly located for an after-treatment lunch at one of the best restaurants in Mooloolaba. What better way to flash your nails than shoveling food into your mouth or chain-drinking chilled glasses of sav?!
