West End fave, Morning After is known for its epic breakfasts, consistent coffee, and cool atmosphere. Our pick off the menu has to be the decadent Breakfast Carbonara; the cheesy deliciousness tastes on point whether you have a hangover or not.

Not only do the interiors of Middle Eastern-inspired cafe Shouk in Paddington look gorgeous, the brunch menu is a real winner. We love their shakshouka eggs, latke stacks loaded with salmon, and strong coffee.

Bardon newbie, Neighbourhood has to be one of the cutest cafes in Brisbane. Housed in an old Queenslander cottage, with a sunny kitchen garden out back, relaxing into the weekend is easy, especially when a plate of their pimped avo on toast with juicy pomegranate seeds is in hand.

Tucked away in a back street of Albion is Vielle Branche, a beautiful combination of a French antique store, cafe, and creative workshop space. With a simple and elegant menu including muesli with pears and natural yoghurt, you won’t find a more peaceful spot to while away the weekend.

Sophisticated Gauge in South Brisbane is made for those who like their dining experience with a twist. Open primarily for breakfast and lunch, we’re partial to their black garlic bread with brown butter and burnet vanilla, as well as their Coco Pops for adults dish featuring banana, whiskey, cacao, and honey-roasted buckwheat. Yum.

Eat Street Markets
Save up all your meals and then go nuts at the original home of variety and choice, the Eat Street Markets in Hamilton. Held on Friday and Saturday nights, you’ll find delights including freshly-shucked oysters, Japanese pizza, Golden Gaytime doughnuts, and those world-famous funnel cakes. What are they? They’re essentially every dessert you’ve ever wanted, rolled into one sweet mess.

Hello Please is the newest entry into Brisbane’s killer Vietnamese restaurant game. Operating out of a shipping container in South Brisbane’s super cool Fish Lane, it’s packed to the rafters with delicious street food options. We love the pork belly bao, the zesty chicken pho, and coconut salad.

Nailing Middle Eastern meals with a modern twist, New Farm’s Gerard’s Bistro is consistently ranked among Brisbane’s best restaurants. Breakfast at Gerard’s calls for the shakshouka eggs, while dinner is not complete without the famous Bekaa wings or the slow-cooked brisket. Trust us, this place is nek-level casual fine dining.

Bonsai Botanika, conveniently close to TopShop in the city, is essentially an ode to Japan. Go here for spectacular ramen and green matcha cakes for dessert.

Fitz + Potts
One of the coolest Brisbane bars and beer gardens resides not in the city nor the Valley, but in the hip northside suburb of Nundah. The retro-style Fitz + Potts boasts an enviable craft beer selection and a seriously tasty vegan menu. It’s the top-notch drinking spot we’ve all been looking for.
