Are These The Best Fashion Labels On The Coast?

By Claire Plush - 17 Mar 2016

Strip away the cool modesty, and it’s not too big of a claim to say that the Sunshine Coast is pretty much killing it when it comes to producing epic fashion and accessory labels.

No matter what our city counterparts think, we’re so much more than boardies, bikinis, and pluggers, here on the Coast.

From market stalls, to bagging Australia-wide stockists, to taking things global via online shops, the best Sunshine Coast fashion labels are conquering the world, one season at a time.

So who do we turn to when we want to literally “wear” our region with pride? Here’s seven of our fave Sunshine Coast fashion labels. Time to get shopping!

Lilya | Women’s Fashion

While this label list is by no means ranked, there’s no way women’s fashion brand Lilya wasn’t going to sit pretty at the top. Created by Sunny Coast designer, Lisa Chedanne back in 2006, Lilya pumps out relaxed pieces with a hint of luxury, and is without a doubt one of the best Sunshine Coast fashion labels. Perfect for our laidback lifestyle, it’s is a little bit boho, a little bit beachy, and super easy to get your mitts on via the online store or local stockists. Maybe give yourself a limit, ‘cause you’re going to want errything.

Holly Ryan | Jewellery

She may live in the big smoke now, but we’ll always hold onto jeweller, Holly Ryan as being one of us. Raised on the Coast, and taught the silver-smithing ropes by her folks, Holly’s label is all about timeless jewellery that is clean, contemporary, and totally wearable. It’s a little on the exxy side, but because the hand-crafted pieces aren’t based on trends, you’ll be wearing your purchase for the rest of yo’ life. A buy like that is priceless, no?

Sets Of Seven | Swimwear

Because what would the Sunshine Coast fashion scene be without bikinis. Sets Of Seven is a hard one to bottle up—their swimwear is simple yet fashion-forward, luxurious yet completely affordable, feminine but with no frills in sight. And to sum it up, we’re totally crushing on everything they put out. Australian made, this is one to bookmark for when your bikini bottoms reach that baggy stage—not a good look. On anyone. You hear me.

Woven Palm | Footwear

The Sunshine Coast is totally slides territory all year round, and Woven Palm knows it! Hand-crafted by the clever Noosa local, Kim Bexon, these rad, luxury sandals are your key to going from beach to bar to house-party without a wardrobe change. Limited runs of each style mean you’re wayyyy less likely to cross paths with your footwear-twins when out at dinner. Because we all know that would just be disastrous.

Station Stripes | Men’s Fashion

Dudes are being well-looked after by super fresh Sunny Coast label Station Stripes. Specialising in tees of the striped variety, these boys have found a niche, and are ripping at it. Need to stock up on staple tees with a vintage-feel? Time to stop the search with what could be the best Sunshine Coast fashion label for guys.

Salita Matthews | Jewellery

If you’re a fan of Samantha Wills, then you are going to die over Salita Matthews. This luxe bohemian jewellery label creates incredible made-to-order statement pieces—think: anklets featuring semi-precious stones, hand-hammered pearl earrings (we want!), chokers, and stunning headpieces that scream “boho bride”. We’ll stop there, ‘cause we could go on, but you’d best go check this gal or else.

Zoe Kratzmann | Footwear

Zoe Kratzmann Footwear is sah pro, we’d forgive you for not knowing it’s a local brand. Yep, this boss lady, aka Zoe Kratzmann, has created three impressive lines—Freya & Sabine, Zoe Kratzmann, and ZK Italy—from her Sunshine Coast base. Boots, sandals, loafers; your feet are safe here.
