There’s plenty of reasons to celebrate spring this month, so read on for all the things to do on the Sunshine Coast this October.
DJ Masterclass
If you’ve ever dreamt of DJing at the biggest festivals the world over, then look no further. The Peregian Digital Hub and The Sunshine Coast Producer Group have teamed up to present a one-off DJ Masterclass with the super talented Tim Fuchs. Whether you’ve dabbled in the art before or you’re new to spinning tracks, this masterclass is going to teach you a thing or two.

Wine And Ceramics
If you missed the last Wine & Ceramics workshops and had a serious case of FOMO, you’re in luck, because the legends at Syndicate Creative are squeezing in a few sneaky sessions before the summer holidays. So if you’re a fan of ceramics and you love wine (yes and yes!) there’s nowhere else you’d rather be on a Friday night. Learn to make your very own pinch pot cup over two sessions; in the first workshop you’ll create your masterpiece with clay and the second session is for glazing. All materials, glazes, firings and wine are included, and an experienced potter will be on hand to guide you through it.

Caloundra Music Festival
Returning for its 13th year and set to be the best yet, don’t miss your chance to soak up four days of epic tunes at the Caloundra Music Festival. The lineup is stacked with a number of homegrown and international artists like Tuka, Baby Animals, Ben Lee, Sampa The Great and so many more.

Fibre Arts Festival
After its mammoth success last year, the Fibre Arts Festival is back so you can find your new hobby. There’s going to be 30 workshops for you to choose from with fibre artists from around the world dropping in to teach you a thing or two. Aside from the art, there are plenty more reasons to get involved like daily yoga sessions, healing sessions, live music and goodie bags. Tickets are pricey but they include everything, so have a scroll of the program before you opt out.

Oktober Feast
If your favourite thing about Oktoberfest is the food (isn’t it always?), then you need to pop down to The Shed for their incredible Oktober Feast. There’s going to be four whole hours dedicated to beer and gourmet food, you’ll get a limited edition souvenir stein, and of course, live beats and beer games.

Noosa Classic Car Show
It’s going to be a spectacle on Sunday 6 October when hundreds of classic cars from all over Australia roll into Noosa. Whether you’re a classic car fan or an admirer of all things vintage and shiny, there’s going to be something for everyone at the Noosa Classic Car Show.

Noosa Surf Film Festival
Celebrating surf culture in a town that lives and breathes this enviable lifestyle every day, the independent Noosa Surf Film Festival is back this month and bringing with it an incredible lineup of surf films and creative talent. With this year’s focus set on sustainability and the environment, we’re expecting 2019’s event to be stellar and one of the best things to do on the Sunshine Coast this month.

Five-Course Beer Degustation
Beer lovers, listen up. Uptown Gastropub and 10 Toes Brewery have teamed up to deliver a Five-Course Beer Degustation. They’ll be serving up five stunning brews and an epic menu packed with tantalising eats for you to devour. We’re drooling just typing this.

Sydney Comedy Festival Showcase
A knee-slapping lineup of the best comedians cherry-picked from this year’s Sydney Comedy Festival are coming to the Sunshine Coast for one night only. It’ll be two whole hours of damn good times thanks to comedians like Luke Heggie, Rebecca De Unamuno and so many more. If you’re hunting for fun things to do on the Sunshine Coast, this is a hot ticket showcase, so grab yours before they’re gone.

13th Annual YogaFest
Get ready to throw down a downward dog at the 13th annual YogaFest. Whether you’re an avid yogi or you’re new to the practice, there’s plenty to get excited about at this year's festival. Get your sweat on at all the yoga classes and workshops or head to a health and wellbeing presentation. There’s also going to be live tunes, market stalls and epic eats so you can stay energised throughout the day.

Amy Shark In Concert
Her tune Adore scored her number one on The Hottest 100 and she’s been one of Australia’s most loved artists ever since. As part of her intimate regional tour, Amy Shark will be bringing her critically acclaimed debut album Love Monster and tracks from her extended play record Night Thinker to the Sunshine Coast. You don’t want to miss it.

Beats & Eats
Beats & Eats combines two of our favourite things—live music and food, so we’re no doubt excited to check it out. Kicking off in October, Beats & Eats will be held on the third Friday of every month, transforming the Rebel end of the Sunshine Coast Home carpark into a foodie’s haven. With a lineup of food trucks satisfying every taste, as well as a bar, it’ll become your new go-to for Friday arvo drinks as you kick back and enjoy the live entertainment.

Sunshine Coast Open House
Ever dreamed of snooping through some of the most beautiful houses on the Sunshine Coast? Well, now you can. In celebration of the unique architectural heritage across the region, for one weekend only the coolest old and new real estate are throwing open their doors so you can get a good sticky-beak. Peek inside 30 properties from Caloundra to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and Pomona, including the Caloundra Lighthouses and Bankfoot House, plus other private residences like the Wilson Beach House and Lake Weyba House. If interiors are your jam, Sunshine Coast Open House has got to be one of the best things to do on the Sunshine Coast in October.

The Chats At SolBar
Sunshine Coast music royalty and Aussie national treasures, The Chats are coming home for their Identity Theft Tour and you need to be there. They’ll be hitting the stage at SolBar for on Friday 25 October, so round up your mates, grab some tickets and get out there to support the boys.

Busby Marou
The music scene is definitely hot here on the Sunshine Coast this month, with so many tours coming to town, and ARIA award-winning Australian duo Busby Marou is clearly a fan of ours too. They’ll be at Venue 114 for a live gig promoting their fourth studio album The Great Divide. The vibes from this blues and roots outfit is sure to set the tone for a chilled weekend.

Oktoberfest
Strap on your Lederhosen’s and dirndl’s because Oktoberfest is finally here. For one glorious beer-filled day, Munich will descend on the Sunshine Coast bringing all the best German eats with it. There’s no better way to celebrate than tossing back a few steins with your mates and chowing down on some pork knuckle. We’ll see you there.

Sunshine Coast BBQ Festival
If you take your BBQ seriously, head to the Sunshine Coast’s first ever BBQ Festival. Get your hands on authentic and deliciously smokey eats from vendors who have been hand-picked for this festival (AKA you know you’re in for a good time). They’ll be serving up everything from baby-back ribs and Texas-style brisket, to burgers and flame-grilled pork belly. The main event is the BBQ competition where celebrated teams will work over 12-hours to prepare and serve slow-cooked, expertly seasoned ribs, brisket, pork and poultry to the judging panel. There’s nothing we love more than an entire day dedicated to BBQ.

Noosa Triathlon
Whether you’ve been training for months or you’re simply there to soak up all the sporting antics, this five-day festival is guaranteed good times. From a delicious brekky fun run to the main Noosa Triathlon event, this is one of the largest triathlon events in the world and it’s right here in our very own backyard. Mark the Noosa Tri in the calendar, you won’t want to miss this.

Halloween Dress Up Speed Dating
In what is set to be a grown-up version of Trick or Treat, Halloween Dress Up Speed Dating sees everyone go on mini dates…and the best part is, everyone is encouraged to embrace the Halloween spirit and turn up in costume. So the only question is, will you choose to date as yourself or your alter-ego? Held at the Post Office Bar, be sure to curb your hunger with delicious finger food, because no one likes a hangry date!
