Christmas in Sydney means cold seafood platters, swims at the beach, and backyard barbeques. We don’t “do” white Christmases so well. In fact, it’s impossible.
But, if you’ve ever gazed wistfully at snow-covered Christmas scenes in movies and on cards, you’re in luck. There’s a new market bringing the wintry, French Xmas market vibes to the northern part of the Sydney CBD and guys, it’s time to get cosy.
It’s all happening as part of the annual Bastille Day Festival, and the first-ever The Rocks Christmas in July Markets promises sweet and savoury food stalls (plus mulled wine and hot chocolate) and gifts, plus loads of Christmas trinkets to boot. At nightfall, they’ll switch on the fairy lights and showcase a community choir singing English and French carols.
If that’s not extra enough for you, they’re even shipping over twelve traditional timber chalets direct from France, all the better to buy your goodies from. When they promise an authentic French market atmosphere, they’re not kidding around.
Get your joyeux Noël on. Catch all the deets here.
