Get To The Design Files Open House

By Jacqui Thompson
4th Dec 2013

We highly recommend you head down to 5 Bennett Place in Surry Hills, over the next few days, to experience The Design Files Open House. The first of its kind in Sydney, Lucy Feagins, the creative mind behind The Design Files, has created a stunning real-life embodiment of her creative world.

Everything within the Open House is for sale. It is quite a unique concept, Lucy sources a home, the residents and all their belongings take a little break, and Lucy fills the space with stunning local art and design for sale. Temporary walls are even installed so Lucy can bring colour and gallery spaces into the home.

Running from tomorrow through to Sunday, 10am to 5pm each day, it is worth a visit not just for soaking up the beautiful design, but to fulfill some much-needed Christmas shopping.

Beautiful works by artists Dion Hortsmans, Barbara Kitallides, Lucas Grogan, Julian Meagher and David Bromley line the walls; homewares by Amanda Dziedzic, Anchor Ceramics, Dinosaur Designs, Miniscapes, The Fortynine Studio and Tractor Home fill the nooks and crannies; while pieces by Jardan and sustainable furniture designer Greg Hatton fulfill the more substantial items.

With coffee on hand courtesy of the Paramount Coffee Project, a very pleasant design wandering this does make.
